Alba is an ongoing project started in 2014 by brothers Parker and James Fitzgerald, documenting a deep appreciation for the Scottish countryside.

Alba is a photographic journey across Scotland, starting first in the wooded lowlands of Perthshire. The project draws a path that grows increasingly sparse, running through the flooded Rannoch Moor up into the empty, snow-covered Highlands, before ending on the breath-taking Isle of Skye.

Over 50% of the land in Scotland resides in the hands of just a few wealthy estate holders. While this reality poses its fair share of political issues, one result is a Scotland that remains largely untouched—especially its famously rugged Highlands.

But in a time where global travel is becoming easier, and places of beauty are ever more well-trodden, Alba seeks to document Scotland as it is now and perhaps never will be again.
